Palestinian Arts and Crafts Trust (PACT) offers sales venues for artisans while educating the American public about the rich traditional Palestinian cultural heritage.

About Us

PACT supports the work of Palestinian artisans in the West Bank, Gaza and throughout the Middle East. Our goal is to create sales at a time when there are very few tourists and the economy is under terrible strain.

Our Location

We invite you to visit the American Educational Trust/PACT store at 1902 18th Street NW, Washington, DC 20009, (south Adams Morgan, just below Florida Avenue and 2 blocks east of Connecticut Avenue and Dupont Circle). You may also contact us directly either by mail or phone at (202) 939-6050 in the Washington, D.C. area or toll-free (800) 368-5788.

Where Does the Money Go?

People ask “Where does the money go?” and our answer is very simple. “To buy more.” We purchase items in enough quantity to offer them, both through the store at AET and through Web site sales and conferences where we are invited as vendors. We purchase items at the prices determined by the artisans and try to cover all costs of sales and marketing with our markup. At the same time we want to keep costs down so as to continue to create a demand. This way we can order more and of course this helps people in the West Bank and Gaza to keep working, earn money and to keep producing these beautiful items, and ultimately keep a rich and glorious tradition alive.
